Kerri McLean is a multifaceted interdisciplinary creative artist working in the film, tv, theatre and audio industries as an actor, director, writer and audio artist.

Starting her career as a stage actress, Kerri has gone on to perform within a vast range of film, tv, theatre, radio and live art productions around the world including Poldark, Bodyguard, Line of Duty, The Ritual, Small Island, and Bodkin. She set up Rolemop Arts theatre company, and lead as Artistic Director for ten years, which saw her develop, produce and direct a diverse range of theatre, tours, and audio-visual projects. Her production of ‘Kemble’s Riot’ which she produced and directed, won The New York International Festival’s ‘Overall Excellence Award 2013’ off-Broadway.

Along with her freelance theatre work, Kerri continues to direct for screen, audio and theatre projects, her most recent work includes 5 episodes of continuing drama which broadcast on Channel 4, 2024. Kerri directed Formula 1 title and promo films over a 4-year period for worldwide broadcast, featuring all of F1’s drivers and key principles including Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Lecerc. Kerri directed ‘Lockdown Town’ London’s first socially distanced immersive performance and music event within vast underground tunnels in London Bridge, which attracted several 4 and 5 star reviews, 2 West End Offies awards, and an EPA award in 2021.

Passionate about sound and music, she started dj’ing out of school, Kerri then went on to train in audio production, recording bands and musicians. Currently, she creates sound designs for theatre and screen, and records radio a range of audio projects. ‘Barred’ audio drama, in which Kerri played lead, as barrister Tamika Dazinzi, won a silver award for ‘Best Director’ and a bronze award for ‘Best Digital Drama’ at The New York Festival’s Radio Awards 2022.

Kerri wrote her first play ‘Memories of Mermaids’ in 2014, whilst artist-in-residence at London’s Bernie Grant Arts Centre, which she went on to stage and direct in London and Brighton. Her following script ‘Reality Check’ won Faith Drama’s ‘Writer-Director Festival Award’ and ‘Writer/Director Audience Choice Award’ in 2016.

Kerri continues writing commissions and new projects and to date has written several scripts for stage and screen. She is currently in development for a new long form TV series, a feature film, and several short films.
